Samsung joins the SATA 3.0 SSD party

I have a X58 Classified im pretty sure it has sata 2, I plan on getting a ssd card maybe 2 of them for raid 0. So should I get a raid controller, and is a raid controller the same thing as a sata 3 card? I assume I should go with a ssd
